The System Configuration Program (SCP) provides outstanding management tools to configure and manage large user groups hardware and software centrally from a Web Browser.  

Below is an overview of licensing options and recommended user groups providing an insight to the outstanding features and flexibility that ODMS provides.

ODMS R7 Standalone with Single License
Dictation Module DM / Transcription Module TM
(bundled with DS-9000 / DS-9500 DVR (DM) and AS-9000 Transcription Kit (TM)
User Group:  Small number of Authors & Typists

  • Easy file sharing between Author and Transcriptionist via E-mail, LAN or FTP
  • w/ DS-9500 transfer dictations via Wi-Fi (requires PC with Wireless Downloader running)
  • Author can download files via Docking Cradle or USB Cable to a local folder
  • Author can transcribe files themselves using Speech Recognition w/ Dragon or send directly to a Typist to transcribe.
  • Author can prioritise important files and specify Worktype(s) which can be linked to automatically open associated template(s) in the TM module
  • Secure Workflow; dictations protected with 256-bit AES file encryption
  • Customizable backup rules avoid any accidental data loss
  • Efficient document creation with various playback functions including real-time Speech Recognition w/ Dragon


ODMS R7 Standalone with Volume License
This is the combined license ID that groups several single licenses into one license ID for both Dictation Module (DM) and Transcription Module (TM).  
User Group: 10-20 Users, mix of Authors & Typists

  • Recommended for sites with no Administrator and/or no need for Central Management
  • Provides all the functionality of a Single License (see details above)
  • w/ DS-9500 transfer dictations via E-mail or Wi-Fi in an internal network
  • w/ DS-9500 transfer dictations via E-mail when in an external network environment
  • For Wi-Fi, Wireless Communication Service is required either installed to a Server or PC that is consistently active
  • Dictation status updated by TM will be reflected to the Authors DS-9500 via WCS
  • Use SCP Client as a File Downloader to download via USB for non-ODMS users


ODMS R7 Workgroup with Volume License & System Configuration Program (SCP)
User Group:  Medium to Large Environment (20+ Users, Mix of Authors & Typists)

  • The administrator can centrally manage ODMS DM/TM, Devices and SCP
  • Volume licenses for ODMS R7 DT/TM are managed and monitored
  • Configure user’s hardware and software centrally from a Web Browser
  • Silent installation for Client software
  • Deploy settings to specific users or groups; lock or disable functions to ensure workflow consistency
  • For Wi-Fi, Wireless Communication Service is required either installed to a Server or PC that is consistently active
  • WCS (via Wi-Fi) and SCP Client (via USB) are needed for Device settings and Firmware updates from SCP
  • Use SCP Client as a File Downloader to download via USB for non-ODMS users
  • Dictation status updated by TM will be reflected to the Authors DS-9500 via WCS


General Notes:

  • Software is downloaded and installed directly from our DOWNLOADS page. Olympus no longer provides a CD disk with products.
  • Install & Setup Wizard(s) are supplied with all ODMS product
  • Citrix & Terminal Server is supported
  • System Configuration Program (SCP) is a Web Application to manage the central administration of ODMS & Olympus Hardware
    Products
  • Wireless Downloader (WD) is a resident program installed with ODMS R7 DM
  • Wireless Communications Services (WCS) provides additional functions in Workgroup Installations (must be installed on a server
    or a PC which is continuously running)
  • Volume Licenses for ODMS R7 are Concurrent and are managed by SCP. The combined number of DM and TM licenses is the maximum number of users which can use the software at the same time.
  • Dictation Module (DM) and Transcription Module (TM) have an interface to locally installed speech recognition software, Dragon by Nuance.  Enables users to decide between three methods of turning speech into text: Classic Dictation, Automatic Transcription, and Advanced Transcription.
  • Dictation Module (DM) support Direct Recording with DS Models and RecMic II USB Microphones (tethered solution for Speech Recognition)
  • DS-9500 can send from E-mail services Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, and Office365
